Ouch
After 2 years of not water skiing, Saturday's trip followed by a lot of loading and unloading equipment, followed by playing a two hour set, followed by more loading and unloading equipment, followed by a fast, has left us with a very sore Jesse on Monday morning. It was a fantastic day, so the pain is all worth it. I just seem to be getting more and more reminders that I'm closer to 30 than I would like to admit.

RSL Gig
My cover band will be playing a free show on the East lawn in front of Rio Tinto Stadium on State Street in Sandy this Friday, July 3rd from 6:15-7-40. Come check it out if you so desire. Remember your dancing shoes and clapping hands.

Gig, not an Irish dance
My new cover band, Mimic, will be playing at the pre-game festivites outside of Rio Tinto stadium on Saturday, April 25th. We'll start around 5:00ish and play 'till about 6:40. It should be a good time if the weather is nice. It is free to the public (if you want to go to the game after we're done playing you can buy a ticket there.)

Lack of Posts, Caption Writing
Well, I've been a slacker in the posting department. I have been posting a bunch for my work blog lately, so maybe that has taken away from my creative writing juice. Speaking of it, there is a funny contest on my work blog to write a caption for an ugly illustration. I'm sure you can do better than what has been submitted. Okay, I'll be honest, I wrote some of the captions just to get the ball rolling a little.
I'm working from home today which has been a welcome change. I'll post a picture of Abby later today when she wakes up.
Still trying to figure out what the point of Valentine's Day is. I don't think mankind will ever truly know, and by mankind, I mean men.
My band has a name. We are called Mimic. We have our first show tonight. We are playing the American Fork 23rd Ward Valentines Dance, and I'm getting pretty excited about it. It is James and Dede's ward, and I understand there are quite a few senior citizens.

Band Name
My new cover band is trying to come up with a name for ourselves. It is really hard. We brainstormed and came up with a pretty big list (Keep in mind, we did not filter our ideas so there are some pretty crazy ones). Our drummer created an online rating test you can select how much you like or hate a name. There are quite a few options so it will take you about 3-5 minutes to complete, but your feedback would be most appreciated. Here is the link:

If you are interested in making sure we don't come up with a really weird name, please vote high numbers for the good ones. If you think they are all bad, feel free to leave a comment with some better suggestions.
P.S. The music we play consists of big hits from the 50's through today. Our current setlist can be viewed and listened to here.
