I'm Just Going to Say It...

Scouts is so weird! Example: If you're at a scout meeting and they tell you there's a "Cracker Barrel in the multipurpose room," it means there's doughnuts or some other type of refreshments in that room. Why wouldn't you just say that?

I have no idea what they are saying most of the time. It could get interesting at camp this weekend if neither of us have a clue what they are talking about. As long as we remember to bring the Cracker Barrel we should survive.

do you remember that weird cub scout chant "Akela we'll do our best! Dib Dib Dib, Dob Dob Dob!" what?! what does that mean? I hope that wasn't just canadian cub scouts, cause it was strange.

I've never personally cared for scouts, yet somehow I was instrumental in resurrecting the scouting program in my last ward. Go figure?

I think you all deserve a big round of applause. (Remember how to do that?)

I was glad that I was a young adult bishop and didn't have to deal with scouts and scouting. There I said it.

No kidding. I think the Duty To God program could replace scouting altogether. We still have physical and educational requirements with spiritual, family and quorum requirements on top of that. I see benefits in scouting and I see the same and additional benefits in Duty To God without the weirdness.

Scouting is pretty sweet when you have someone that has done it for 17 years taking care of everything for you.

I think the big problem is that it is best to have a volunteer being the scout master rather than someone who has no clue what they are doing and don't care about scouts being called to be the scout master.

It is a full time job and no fun to sacrifice so much time for something that you may not like at all. -James

For the record, I do like a lot about scouts. I just find some of it to be pretty weird and quirky.
